King Kong review
Named after the popular King Kong movie, Playtech brings Peter Jackson’s creation to life in its aptly named King Kong slot. Being licensed from Universal Pictures, this official game features clips from the movie giving a large dose of reality to its animation and graphics. There is also another slot for King Kong by Cryptologic, although it’s not as popular as the Playtech version with the “Eight wonder of the world” as its distinguishing moniker.
The King Kong slot comes with a standard 5 reels and 20 pay-lines. Players can place bets from 20p a spin to £100 a spin. Its auto play feature also gives more freedom allowing multiple spins. With a return to player percentage of 95.50, players are assured of a good pay-out.
The game’s symbols are handpicked from the movie itself. A bulk of the symbols in use is movie screenshots. The scatter symbol is the movie’s logo and when gotten unlocks a bonus game. The wild symbol is represented by King Kong. Apart from substituting for all other symbols except the scatter symbol, three wild symbols also trigger a bonus feature. Depending on the mode in play, the player gets a number of spins.
King Kong game mode
The game’s major attraction is in its modes. The King Kong slot features a Jungle mode and a City mode. With bonus games activated, players are taken from one mode to the other. The modes reflect the movie’s plot with King Kong the major character’s time on the Skull Island portrayed as the Jungle mode and his experience in New York after being captured portrayed as the City mode.
The game offers a re-spin feature known as the Wild Jungle re-spin feature, this feature is activated by the appearance of three or more symbols anywhere on the reels. Once activated, the lucky player is entitled to 3 re-spins.
King Kong bonus games
The King Kong Bonus games are an interesting side attraction in the game. The Skull Island Bonus is activated by getting 3 or more King Kong symbols. Matching three identical pictures on a presented map of Skull Island leaves a player with an instant multiplier value which varies. The King Kong symbol offers a player a thirty times multiplier while the Raptor offers a fifteen times multiplier.
The City tower bonus is another interesting King Kong bonus. The bonus is under the city mode and is triggered by three or more Kong symbols. Players have to pick up planes trying to attack King Kong on the City tower. A cash prize is guaranteed for picking one to three planes over three separate occasions.
